In contemporary higher education institutions, the teaching of masonry is limited to less than two weeks at most schools. The CMU Checkoff Program aims to address this shortfall. Across all five regions of the CMU Checkoff, we have engaged industry subject matter experts, professors, PhD students, and others to develop strategies for reintroducing extensive masonry education into schools. This initiative includes creating CMU courses in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Management, expanding CMU research, increasing CMU scholarships, implementing hands-on workshops, masonry camps, design competitions, Blockfest events, lectures, and grassroots opportunities. Our focus is on providing quality CMU education opportunities to universities throughout the United States.
