Segmental Retaining Walls (SRWs)

Segmental retaining walls are composed of modular concrete blocks that interlock. These structures serve to retain a sloping mass of soil, providing a solid vertical facade. Without adequate retention, slopes may cave, slump, or slide. The unique construction of segmental retaining walls allows for higher and steeper walls, capable of counteracting the lateral earth pressure generated by backfill soil.

These walls offer a variety of options in terms of colors, sizes, and textures, and can incorporate straight or curved lines, steps, and corners. They are ideal not only for slope support but also for extending usable areas typically lost to natural land slopes. Common uses include grade changes, expanding driveways, walkways, and enhancing outdoor patio areas.
