About SCMA
Since its inception in 1946, the SCMA has been the region’s largest advocate for the use of concrete masonry units. As a non-profit trade organization, we promote the economic advantages and versatility of concrete masonry units through research, technical data, educational activities, promotional events, local government relations and industry communication activities.
Education
The comprehensive SCMA education hub consolidates resources from across the country providing a centralized platform for quick access to educational materials, including basic LU credits and AIA HSW-accredited courses. From SCMA in-person and virtual trainings, to courses from external partner organizations, our wide-ranging masonry education offers something for everyone.
Resources
SCMA works to ensure that safety is paramount in every building by offering free, unbiased advice on best practices for cost-effective, energy-efficient, and safe construction. Our library of resources includes technical information, whitepapers and articles, and quick links to videos and reference materials. If you need more support, we’ll even review plans and specifications of your upcoming projects.

The Beauty of Block Learning Hub
Take advantage of free education through the Beauty of Block Learning Hub. An initiative of the national Concrete Masonry Checkoff program, each course on the Block Learning Hub is presented to the concrete masonry industry at no cost, and offers a range of learning credits for architects, engineers and university educators.

CMU Checkoff Program
The Concrete Masonry Checkoff program, founded in conjunction with the US Department of Commerce, is an industry-funded initiative devoted to the research, education and promotion of concrete masonry products. The result of these efforts is aimed at driving demand for concrete masonry products nationwide by enhancing awareness, developing new markets, increasing sales.
